day off

The Child dislikes the school bus, so he was treated to a car ride to school this morning. Although it bothers me to drive unnecessarily, his school is located in the neighborhood I want to live in, so The Child got his way.

Of course, my car made its way from the school to this house which I believe to be mine even though it is in contract with someone else. Doesn't this house look as if it belongs to whirlingbetty?
This is my favorite grocery store on the planet. It is located right across the street from MY house, pictured above. The people who work in this store are all friendly, if you can imagine that. It's a happy store, dammit.

This is another scene near MY house. On this dreary morning these little shops looked inviting, although this shot taken through my car window doesn't show that very well.

The park just behind MY house looked like this today. It's pretty lush for an urban park, I'd say.

These people are practicing Tai Chi in the gazebo.
Even my favorite branch of my bank is in this neighborhood. I feel almost guilty going there, like an imposter. I'm pretending that I'm lucky enough to be living here, in MY house which is really someone else's.

=( at the misfortune of their's ... any hope the deal could fall through?

Dear Nancy,

Well, the house is still listed as "pending" as opposed to "sold". So yes, I'd say there is hope. Maybe my delusion will come to fruition!

Betty

We live about a mile away from
our sons school but I don't trust
the people around here to drive
the right way.

If you don't get a chance to get
this house there will be another
one come up and be just right.

I wish you a great weekend!!

HUGS!!

Never cease dreaming! Without dreams, life is dull and flat. You may not have *that* house, but you will have *your* house! :)

You sound like you had a good day and you know the house contract could still fall through!

Dear Laurie,

We live several miles from the school, so some sort of vehicle is necessary. I don't understand why he objects to the bus!

I am worried about prices of these houses. The one I wanted was unusually low priced due to odd renovations inside.

Dear Lynilu,

I'll stick with this dream. It's been 7 years now.......

Most people try to stop me- it's nice to hear some encouragement!

I know the deal came apart when we tried to sell our first house. It happens.

I remember the first time I saw Tai Chi, some Asian women were doing it very early in the morning at Boston Commons. They looked quite old and I think Tai Chi helped them to reach that age.

Dear Big Dave,

I'm definitely waiting in the wings in case it does happen, not that I wish bad fortune for the current buyers, but honestly, I think the house was meant for me.

Yeah, the people in the gazebo looked pretty old also- I bet Tai Chi promotes longevity.

Betty

I so hope your "delusion" comes to fruition. I am a firm believer in if it is meant to be, then it will be.
I lost my dream house two years ago, it was a huge colonial southern built in 1890 but I got over it. One day.............

Dear Patti,

Your dream house sounds divine! Yet you got over it. I won't start on that process unless it ends up sold....we'll see!

Dear Kacey,

I somehow missed your comment until now! You're absolutely right- I usually do have a good day when I hang out in that neighborhood. The energy there serves me well. And it ain't over yet.....

Betty

I hope your dream will come true. There's something about finding a neighborhood. I used to live on the south part of Saint Louis and always drove to the west side for shopping. The feeling I got when I arrived in the area was palpable. It took me years but I'm living there now. So keep it inside of you and one day, I honestly believe, you will be saying "this is my house" and it will be so.

Dear Mary Ann,

Your experience sounds so similar to mine! I'm really glad that you're finally living in the neigborhood that resonates with you. And that is my goal.

I've been told that there's still a chance. You can guess who told me that.....
