a few shots of today

I took my camera outdoors this morning, thinking that perhaps it would behoove me to see my world through the camera lens.

These finches feed here every day, right outside of my kitchen window, always available for viewing. I go to the trouble of keeping the feeder full, yet I ignore the sight of the birds flitting to and fro.

The gargoyle outside of my front door mocks my icy pensiveness. I could learn a lot from him if I'd glance his way.

The Buddha, normally jovial, appears forlorn. Is that an icy tear emerging from his eye? Whatever's bothering him, he's sitting with it, allowing it to be.

Your pictures are beautiful! It is important to stop and enjoy the beauty thats right in front of us, but so hard to do when there are sooo many things to get done. Thank you for reminding me. Have a wonderful day!

I love what the camera's lens shows me. Obviously! I think it is the most amazing tool for seeing the world. Great pictures, Betty!

We have a feeder right outside our kitchen window. Occasionally I'll see a finch, but mostly it's sparrows and redpoles (sp?).

Lately I haven't seen as many birds feeding there. Then when I went outside to shovel I think I might have learned why. There was a big hawk in a tree that overlooks the feeder.

Guess my bird feeder works in more ways than one.

I saw a huge hawk rising like a pheonix out of a bush near my feeder the other day. I thought, surely the hawk wouldn't be so bold....

Lovely, Betty, just lovely! You have so much talent with your lens. I'm hoping that you learn to appreciate how talented you are. When you get behind the camera, your eyes become so adept at finding the beautiful and great composition. Guess you should walk around with a camera all the time --- it would give you such confidence!

Dear My Kids Mom,

Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. My sister has been experiencing spreading pain, so it's a bit scary. I'm sending her cards and gifts on the mail, not knowing what else to do right now.
