Help Betty choose a slipcover

Betty's living room

The red slipcover in the above photo has to go.  I suspect that it lends too juvenile a look to my living room.  Is that why nobody has yet made an offer on the house?  I doubt it, but you never know what might influence a potential buyer.

Here are some possible options I've selected to replace the red slipcover:

I already know which one you all are going to choose.  Let's see if I'm right.

I'd go with the plain pale brown one, and my second choice would be the brown one with the stripes.

I definitely agree with you the red has to go.

Most people cannot visualize when they are walking through a house. They envision themselves living there as is, so the blander you can make it, the easier it is for them.
Liked the flowers in the vase:)

Hugs to you and ***good luck***

p.s. I do have a blog. It is http://www.cinderella11pm.com if you ever want to visit.

Cinderella, I agree with everything you wrote. Gradually, I am transforming my house into something more people will be able to imagine living in.

I tried leaving a couple of comments on your blog but I don't think it worked. I'll keep trying.

hugs,
Betty

Dear Betty,

Clearly great minds think alike about the transformation - good job!
IT WILL HAPPEN. THE UNIVERSE ALWAYS MOVES EVENTUALLY WHEN EFFICIENT EFFORTS/ACTIONS ARE CONSISTENTLY TAKEN WITH THINGS LIKE HOMES.

I think everything is working now. The captcha feature was removed.

I still have comments moderated to keep the spam out, so as soon as I am back at the computer, I approve them. Yours were approved, of course :)

How is THE CHILD? Or should I say THE ADOLESCENT?
Has he started his own computer company yet?

((HUGS))

I'm partial to the second one the dark brown with stripes. It is very elegant, I think. However, I wonder if it would make the room too dark, since the other couch is dark also. Considering that I might consider the white with floral design to lighten the room.

Good luck!

Cinderella, I wish The Adolescent would start a computer company!! I'll drop that hint today......

I still have one more thing I want to do to the house to make it look as good as possible. I'm not satisfied with the adolescent's bedroom, which also happens to be the master bedroom. But yes, the efforts/actions are being taken....

Hugs,
Betty

Lynilu, although I too like the dark brown with stripes, I agree with you that it might make the room too dark. Also, at this time of year there is no direct sunlight coming into the room, so it tends to be dark regardless of the furniture. I am going to stop by to see what Target has in the store before ordering any of these. I will keep you posted!

hugs,
Betty

The brown with the stripes gets my vote! Nice large living area you have there.

I like the dark brown one with stripes the best. True, the more you take away that's you from the house the more people can visualize themselves living there. Try to make it look as roomy as possible. What are the stats by the way? Do you have a MLS listing online?

Also, did I see something about you living near a park? Maybe you could attract senior citizens or empty-nesters with that. That is a big draw for some people. Can you do any advertising on your own? Possibly in a community newspaper or two? It never hurts to do things a little differently in these times with the market how it is.

Dear B -
so what is your plan for the adolecent's bedroom?
I love changing things about the house - I'm getting a vicarious thrill from you:)

Happy Wednesday!

Oh, Cinderella, you won't be happy to hear this - my plans for The Child's room have derailed. I saw a great coverlet online, and it was actually available in a brick-and-mortar nearby, so I went to look at it. It was a huge disappointment. That bedroom is my final frontier with the house. Maybe I'll do a post about it, asking for suggestions. Yes, I will do that!

Hugs,
Betty
