Memorial Day 2007

"Psssst! Betty! Look out your window! Quit feelin' sorry for yourself. Round up that child of yours and c'mon outside. Time's a wastin'. Oh, and grab that bag of peanuts on your way out..."

"Yipee! They're comin' outside! And they're haulin' peanuts! Party time at Whirlin' Betty's!!"

"Hey, Betty! I'm over here! We came over to cheer you up and remind you of what's really important! Send some of those nuts my way!"

"Hey, Mama. Let's go for a quick walk through the rose garden to see what's blooming today. The animals will still be here when we get back."

"Look at that scarlet rose bush, Mama! Let's smell it!!!""

"See, I told you they'd still be here after our walk. There's the red-bellied woodpecker ready for some peanut action!"

"Let's all do the Memorial Day Dance! Yipeeeee!! Let's Whirrrrrrl!"

Happy Monday evening and Memorial Day, Betty ! How are you doing ?

That squirrel was adorable in the pictures !

And your rose bush is gorgeous -- it must be quite old to have gotten so big ! That vivid color is wonderful against the greenery !

And you got a picture of a woodpecker, too !
The animals must feel safe around you to let you photograph them and not run/fly away !

Hope you and your son had a wonderful dance together on this sunny day !

Thank you for the comment, too, Betty... It's scary to spill my guts so deeply sometimes. But then it seems like so many people both understand because they have been there/done that -- and/or are so sweet and supportive, that it really helps me through the peaks and valleys...
4th day on estrogen... The hot flashes maybe seema smidge better, and I am not AS depressed, so this is all to the good. Maybe I'm psyching myself out, because it's too soon for the stuff to be in my system properly, but who cares ???

Hope you have a great week ahead --

Dear Annie,

Isn't it amazing how supportive blogging friends can be? It's worth spilling those guts, I think. And about those hormones- I think the levels change daily on their own anyway, even without the estrogen stuff- I read that somewhere- so yours probably really are better already!

Have a great week!

Hugs,
Betty

My life has been so hectic and exhausting these days, but I, like you, am thankful for many intangible things in my life that will get me through to the light at the end of the tunnel. I read back your posts and just want to say...y'll be awright mama!

Sorry my attendance here (and everywhere) has been so spotty. I will be back to normal soon (I hope!)

Hi Betty - wow that was a great reminder of the pleasures we get in life but can be stifled by the difficulties. Thank you for snapping my head back in place today....

Dear Kacey,

Well, the day was not perfect, but I'm trying to focus on the parts that were! It's not exactly denial- it's accentuating the positive.

Hugs,
Betty

Dear Desiree,

I haven't had time to enjoy my yard since Memorial Day. I even had to work this morning (Saturday) but it'll happen again eventually. The critters have been wondering where we've been.

Hugs,
Betty

Hi Betty - Reading Matty's blog today was an extra special reminder to count my blessings. I know that you like me feel fortunate in all that we have. How's your car and home search/sell going? Has the dad been around lately??

B.S. said...

Dear Maria,

Funny you should ask about my car. I poured another $600 into it this week, this time for an alternator and a few other things. I was carless for only a day and a half this time. I have given up the house search, since the house I wanted is sold now, and now all my money is going to my lawyer for my child custody case. My lawyer says that unfortunately, it looks like we're headed for a nasty battle. I'm trying to act as if I'm focused on squirrels and chipmunks, but it's not true. Thanks for asking!

Hugs,
Betty

Hi Betty - You are a trooper. Stay centered. Concentrate on all the goodness around you. Do not give him your beautiful power for a second. Happy Father's day to you. I hope you and your little boy had a good weekend together. : - )
